A Belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year To All!
It's 2009 and time for a blog update. I have not hit the blog since the middle of December so a much belated Merry Christmas and somewhat late Happy New Year to all of the readers. The end of 08 and the start of 09 has been great.
Jam and I got a new car just before Christmas. A '05 Ford Freestyle. We had been looking to get something larger to accomodate our needs and this was the perfect fit. We had been looking around a bit and decided to check the Ford dealer where I had bought my last car and we ended up with a new vehicle just before Christmas. We are always so cramped when going on trips which require a few nights stay since we have Evan in his car seat and Logan in the back with him and all of our stuff in the trunk. Jam's car was just becoming too unpractical for life with Evan too since it was a 2-door. Getting the Freestyle when we did worked out great with the little bit of winter weather we have had and with Christmas. Getting to Pap and Ga's (what Evan calls Jam's dad and mom) was a dream with Evan having his own row and Logan having his own row and all of our stuff in the back. It was great to come home too because Ga came with us and Evan had his new toys to bring home.
Christmas was really fun this year. We went to my parents on Christmas Eve and it was nice to have the whole family there. I think this is actually the first Christmas Eve where everyone was there because last year Denise, Anthony, and Roman did not make it since Anthony had to work until pretty late that day. Evan had a lot of fun with his three cousins and the rest of the family. I unfortunately slipped on some ice and fell just as we got there and twisted my knee the wrong way so I just chilled most of the night. Christmas morning was a blast at our house. Last year was Evan's first but he wasn't walking or really into opening gifts. This year he tore into everything and opened all of his presents and som of Jam and mine before he played with anything. Then he played all day and night. Our neighbor Jean came over and had dinner with us. Jam worked on Friday and then we headed to Ga and Pap's on Saturday and stayed until Monday. Ga came home with us and stayed through the Friday after New Years Day. We just took it easy and stayed home for New Years Eve. My parents came over for New Years Day dinner (pork and sauerkraut, it's a Pa thing apparently). That night Jam and I went on a date since Ga was there to take care of Evan. We went and saw the movie Marley & Me which was good. Jam had read the book and said it was pretty close. I thought it would be a kiddie dog movie but it was really more of an adult drama about relationships and family and how the dog was involved with all aspects of their life. It was really good and had some great funny parts and some sad parts. I even got a little teary-eyed.
Both Jam and I had a good bit of time off over the holidays which was nice. It was hard going back to work for a 5-day week. Only one more day to go. It's supposed to be snowy this weekend and we have some new movies and games from Christmas so that sounds to me like a good excuse to stay home and watch some DVDs and play some Wii. Jam got an Ipod Touch from her dad for an (early) birthday present so I'm sure we will be playing with that. It's pretty much an Iphone without a phone. It's nice to be able to just pick it up and get online via wifi. Jam really likes all of the apps and games for it. The funniest thing we have seen that you can download for it is a level application. Can you honestly see a carpenter putting an Ipod on something to see if it is level. What I think is the coolest thing on it is that it can play movies. I put The Dark Knight, Juno, and Wall•E (which Evan and I watched the other day and it was excellent) on it. They look amazing and I can't believe how good the sound is through the earbud headphones.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Happy New Year Prologue
My first "real" post of the year will be coming up any day now (it's been a heck of a week) but until then, here is a video that made me laugh today. As if Billy Mays standing in a wind tunnel screaming about some fabric glue wasn't funny enough...
