Chillin

Not much has been going on lately. Just chillin, literally. It's been cold the last few days and exceptionally windy. That's how east coast autumn is supposed to be though. So far this has been an enjoyable week. Jam and I took Evan to Dutch Wonderland on Sunday and we had a blast. We had never been there so we didn't know what to expect. It is a very nice amusement park for the kiddies. Evan had a lot of fun and pretty much passed out instantly on the car ride home. That's what happens when you refuse to take your daily nap before going to the park I guess.

Other than that, we have been doing some things around the house and close to home. After Evan is in bed, Jam and I have been watching some of the primetime shows on tv. One that we both really like is Pushing Daisies. We netflixed the first season last month just before the new season started and really enjoyed it. The first few episodes of this season have been just as good. I also really like Eli Stone. That one just started it's second season after a brief first season last summer. Those are my favorite two shows right now. New science-fiction shows Fringe (on Fox) and Sanctuary (on SciFi) are both good but could be better. Stargate Atlantis is probably my favorite sci-fi show. I just started watching it last year and am bummed that this is going to be it's final year. I also think that the Star Wars Clone Wars animated series on Cartoon Network is excellent. Most shows returning from last year have been so so. More of the same. Heroes and The Office have both been pretty good.

Jam's mom and aunt are coming to visit this weekend so we are looking forward to that. That will especially be fun for Evan. It's always nice for people to see him in his element. There will be lots of coloring, dancing, playing with toys, couch climbing, reading books, etc. But that's because there always is. I hope to find time to finish reading Angels and Demons. I have been tearing through it this week. It's excellent. Very different from The Da Vinci Code but just as good. I also may go see The Dark Knight at the Whitaker Center IMAX. Believe it or not, I have not yet seen The Dark Knight. I must be one of a few who has not considering it has made something like $525 million.

Stuck in my head

I have the tune of this song stuck in my head. I heard it the other day in a commercial and it's been with me ever since. Actually, it a decent song from a decent band, at least from what I have heard of them on the radio and youtube. Band of Horses. The song is The Funeral which was their first single off of their first album in 2006. Enjoy.

Best of 12

Just a quick post to say how glad I am that it is October. October is my favorite month of the year. It's my favorite because I love autumn and October is when you get to experience the transition with the cooler days and changing leaves and crisp fall air. I love jeans and a t-shirt kind of days. I love being able to work and play outside but not be sweating to death. Looking forward to Halloween too which is Jam and my favorite holiday. It will be a lot of fun with Evan this year. Here's to October and Autumn. Oh, the pumpkin carving at the start of this post is from Eduardo from Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends. I didn't make it but found it online. Thought it was only appropriate since that is one of the only cartoons Jam and I can stomach (cartoons suck anymore) and Ed is one of our favorite characters and we saw a Halloween episode recently that was hilarious!

Back to good.

Hey!

I'm finally back to feeling like my old self. I had a busy weekend, then was sick for like a week, then had a busy weekend, and now here I am. Who missed me. Anyway, to make up for the lack of posts lately, I'm planning on a slew of substantial posts here and activity on my facebook.

Anyway, as for what I have been up to since my last substantial post which was almost a month ago, a lot. At the end of September, Jam and I went to a party at our friends Jen and Drew's new house. They are big fans of the murder mystery party so they threw a pirate themed murder mystery. This was the third (or fourth?) murder mystery party of theirs that we had been to and it was the best one yet. Everyone's costumes were great. Some people went all out. I forget what my name was but I was a merchant sailor and I ended up being the murderer. Good time.

After that, Evan and Jam had both had a cold and I was unfotunate enough to catch it by the weekend. I was pretty miserable for the next week and ended up taking a day and a half off of work which I rarely do for being sick. Jam took a few days off between her old and new jobs so she and Evan headed west to vist Pap and Ga (how Evan refers to Grammy) for a few days and I stayed home to rest. There are two kinds of sick people. Those who like to be babied and taken care of, and those who just want to be left alone. I am the later so it was nice to have the house to myself for a couple of days. My cold hung on for quite a while but I am finally back to good.

This past weekend was great. Jam also had Monday off (Columbus Day) so it was almost like a three day weekend for us. On Saturday we went to the playground at the school down the street and Evan enjoyed that for about an hour. Meme and Pop-pop came over on Saturday night to watch Evan for a bit and Jam and I went out to dinner to celebrate our 6th anniversary. We went to Tavern on the Hill which is a really nice restaurant. We have been there a few times but it had been a few years since our last visit. One of the best places around here to get crab cakes. On Sunday we went to a place in Gettysburg called Land of the Little Horses. Evan has a love for horses so we thought he would love it. It's an oversized petting zoo with goats, llamas, emus, horses, etc. There are even some smaller horses who were walking around free. It was a very cool place. Ironically, Evan was not too sure about the horses but loved the goats. Other than that, we just chilled and watched some movies this past weekend.

And that brings us to hear. So far a good week. Since Jam had off from work on Monday, we did some house cleaning and organizing. Jam kicked ass and straightened up the basement a good bit. It looks great. We basically have a second living room (again). Oh well. I will leave it at that for now.

Digging this song.

Sorry for the major lack of posts here lately. It's not that nothing has been going on. It's that I've been sick and too busy at home and work lately to post. So again, sorry to the readers. Anyway, since I had a few minutes and felt inspired, here is the video for a song I just heard on the radio and loved. It's called Sometime Around Midnight by a band called The Airborne Toxic Event. Enjoy!

Back to work.
